About the job

UX Engineers are the synthesis of design and development. They take Google's most innovative product concepts and bring them to life in an effort to push the boundaries of user interface design. Google is known for its design aesthetic and technical know-how. In a UX Engineer job, you'll need both types of skills to develop the next generation of products. You'll partner with Researchers and Designers to define and deliver new features, test new concepts and assist with final implementation. Details are critical as you iterate on complex interactions, animations and pixel-perfect visual designs.

We're an agile team of UX Engineers at Geo (Google Maps) that have directly shaped design thinking working closely with our design, research, and engineering partners. We're part of the greater Geo UX Studio team consisting of motion and visual designers, UX writers and content strategists. As a UX Engineer, you'll work alongside a talented team of designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers focused on the core Google Maps product. You will also be part of the Geo UX Studio, a larger collective of talented visual and motion designers, UX writers and content strategists.

Geo builds the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users. More than a billion people rely on Google Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives. That includes sailing down the Amazon river, choosing where to get a bite of pizza, and saving time in commuting.

Geo also helps merchants get their businesses on Google, and developers use the power of Google Maps to enhance their apps and websites. They are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving the accuracy of our geo data, all in order to plot a course for the future of mapping.
